D Yolanda to Depository II Malaso ch 1.11

PRESENCE: You are under a lot of stress Yolanda said Controller, but you made the right move not bucking High Table. In the immortal words of Dean Acheson,  “Negotiation in the classic diplomatic sense assumes parties more anxious to agree than to disagree.”

I'm going to beat those guys, self centered, self righteous, self blinded, she replied forcefully.

You got H Coin and Depository II. Pedro and I are sticking with you.

And lost Up and Out, I had such plans muttered Yolanda.

You'll make new plans, reasoned Controller. In any case, you need to put that stuff behind you, he said almost barking. Africa Times just ran a story about gold being imported into the Depository. The Malaso are already starting to move out of the South, you'll probably see the Somali pirates in 4 - 6 weeks, you wanted a fight, you're going to get it. I've got you booked on a Gulf Stream VII. Let me know what I can do.
END PRESENCE.

Yolanda landed in Madagascar and made her way up the mountain following the latest gold shipment. It was relatively safe in transit, Circle farms, some a hundred years old lined the banks of the almost unused canal. All of the tribes within a 100 km in any direction worked for Circle companies and had a higher standard of living, access to health care, education and a steadily brightening future. No fool Malagasy, we are Circle family.

When she arrived on site, General Cheatin Mogobe took her to the highest point of the Depository mountain/mine.

As you know madam, in addition to the passive assets, fenced farms loyal to you, the waterfalls, the terrain, you have 6 primary active assets.

The majority of them are positioned to defend the gold shipment in transit from the canal to the mine, what we feel is the greatest point of risk. They are: Artillery North, Mobile 1,  Mobile 2,  and Tower East. In a pinch Artillery South can do a 180 to set up a kill zone, but with a high risk of friendly fire casualties.

Yolanda stood on the high place, raised her arms to the sky, felt the wind blowing through her clothes exposing her leg, the power from small foundational acts carried out over time. crackled in the air Yes! This was it, this was the moment she was destined for. She said no words, but quietly thought, queen Yolanda.

She toured the Depository, met her personal security detail of 100 men that had no trace of effeminance, hard men that resembled John Wayne, or the Expendables, a parting gift from her time with Up and Out.

The mothers of the children of Yolanda were in their community, she saw how her precious babies were doing, some already adolescents, but all with her genetics. Most of these ladies are every bit as dangerous as a member of her security squad.

Last on the tour she met with her Neorat partners, XXX and YYY. She looked around, and visibly sighed when she saw her whisperer, Charles Vanderbilt.

Her apartment was exactly what she asked for. A perfect copy of her Seattle apartment, replete with Ahuva and the large glass doors in her bedroom facing East, the rising sun. At her altar, she met privately with the co-queen mothers, Chara and Clara Bow, her personal attendants, they bowed before the genesis block of the Principus chain and gave thanks to their higher power for making all this possible.

It had been a very long day, she would sleep well tonight.

When darkness falls in the jungle there are no streetlights. Many predators have advanced adapted night vision, many prey simply dig in for the night, invisibility by stillness.

The first Malaso were leaving the Southern plains. Many had been in the edge of the jungle seeking meat when Zebu were not easily available.
Armed with axes, hunting shotguns and AK-47s, outlaw gangs honed by frequent and extremely violent attacks, despised and feared across the country came searching for gold. Depository II would put their reputation to the test.

Their destination is not the arid lands, if they lived long enough to reach Depository II, many would see their first waterfall. Accustomed to moving fast, they found the hanging roots and floor growth difficult, almost impenetrable, moving forward required machete work.

They were used to being invisible, here in the rain forest, they were like that car that drives by your house with the stereo way too loud, subwoofer making your windows pulse, don't you hate that?

Yolanda probably didn't need her sensor network to track them, but it would matter later and this was great training for the signal analysts and AIs.. 8 of 10 of the Malaso never made it through the jungle to the Depository territory. When they reached that fence, they were captured, quite easily in their frightened and dehydrated state and taken to a facility with food and medical care. Yolanda waited 10 days before sealing the border. Of the 47 survivors from 5 gangs there were 3 chiefs.

Each of the chiefs, after receiving appropriate medical attention, had the opportunity of a night with Yolanda, but one had a sexually transmittable disease and missed out. The chiefs were taken on tours of the local Circle farms and preserves. They were given the opportunity to pledge allegiance to the Circle, 2 made the choice, the third and all of his family, gang, their families, lands and goods are no longer counted among the living. Don't count the colonials out, even the enlightened ones.
