D Kelsey Kegel really believe the earth is flat? Done 1.5

Perhaps you saw the video that just went viral where the little blond school girl, asked the politician, Kesley Kegel, if she actually believed the earth was flat?

It was a good laugh, but her answer is worth considering.

No, I don't, she said, what's your name tag say? Sally, hello Sally. The physical earth is shaped like a ball, a sphere, except that it has gained a bit of weight in the middle, like most male adults. The reason they call us the Flat Earth Party is because we believe the earth is flat from a moral perspective. Do you know what morals are?

Sure said Sally, like the golden rule, do unto others . . .

What a great example Sally, Kelsey cut in. You see, we have found that is not actually correct. To survive, and to thrive in this world you have to have what we call rational self-interest. You may have heard the expression look out for number one? Who takes care of you at home?

My mom, I see my dad every other weekend, answered Sally.

You see, right now as you are growing up your mom looks out for you, but when you are older, you will be able to look out for yourself, that is your privilege as an adult. Would you like to know more about what we have learned to be true in the Flat Earth party?

I guess so, said Sally.

We have learned the only functional, fully free society, is one with minimal government and the key to that is a focused central authority, usually one person. This is what we learned 20 years ago, Erdogan, Putin, Kagame, Duerte, Orbán and others rescued the world from chaos and established our current model for government. So far, we haven't been able to establish this model in the US, Congress and the judicial system have been a real problem, but we are making progress.

My mom says there is a need for governmental services, such as the armed forces, police and court system, but there is no money available to pay them any more.

Well Sally, there isn't as much federal money, we need to service the debt. But since your community benefits from police, fire fighters, ambulances, if you can pay them, we can maintain the armed forces, deal?

I think so, said Sally doubtfully. It really is amazing how well a 7 year old can grasp the world, yes?
