Chapter 4 Summary

Wonk updates Professor Ellen, his business school professor, on the status of his Curvaceous Coffee, Back Comb, and Bestow business lines. With all the shootings in America, it is a small wonder that WTG tacticals was the cash cow. He explains his struggles with the physical security startup, focusing on PSEs. He doesn't really detail the relationship with Yolanda and Up and Out to the professor, but that is why it works. Wonk takes a minute to think about Blue Circle.







Gloria invites Wonk to Roost, says she has something to tell him. We introduce Harold the photographer at Urban Timber. She tells him she is leaving to make Aliyah, but since he isn't boss anymore, they can make love and they proceed to do so. They take a break the next morning and go to Kerkchoff's Ranch where she tells Wonk a bit about Yolanda and how she uses Up and Out.

We learn that Gloria is born of a Jewish mother, Yolanda, High Table, was carried by the same mother, but does not have her DNA. Rhea offcially takes over Bestow.

We get a hint that Wonk is either a clone, or has been cloned, or has some sort of Blue Circle related DNA.


Cody Boy and Bandi Boy have a power encounter, Cody is still alpha dog.

While Wonk and Rhea are talking business, (she is taking over management from Gloria), Yolanda and Gloria communicate via presence. They discuss the plague in Madagascar, Depository II, and that patient zero of the smart rats traces back to The National Rodent Research Institute. Yolanda has advised High Table and the Ethics Council.

Gloria and Wonk part ways, Wonk cries. 

Traveler sees him, says, "road trip". Wyoming, canyon flood and mudslide, they survive and are very impressed with the power of nature.

Harold the photographer gets a job at a shady call center to make ends meet. 

Traveler and Cody head to San Jose for a birthday party and then on to Nevada to see Skip's RV production at the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center. Traveler is one of the first people to see the Carbanado, electric off road vehicle, the Skip shows him the local branch of the HNMNBie library.

We introduce Kelsey Kegel of the Flat Earth Party, she refers to strongmen politicians as kings. Meanwhile Traveler is off to make an appearance at a Blue Circle birthday party. Cody runs perimeter.

Wonk is beaten within an inch of his life, suspects Pussy Galore is behind it. Clarissa takes him to see Mizkaru, the tatooed doctor that works weekends at mixed martial arts tournaments. He is OK, but decides to beef up his alarms and keep a SCHMBS large knife handy. Wonk's business brain realizes the event is just more proof there is a place for a physical security company.

Wonk drops my Reverend Slocom to ask if people saying they hear from God are crazy.

Rhea takes over Bestow and makes her first sale.

Harold the photographer is hired by Eli Gallen, the portrait guy, to do boudoir photography. His first client is Yolanda with her boy toy, Lenny. Yolanda asks Harold not to leave until she can thank him in person.
