The second gilded age was coming to a close. In the US, only 7.5% of the workforce had what was classically considered a middle class salary wage. Small businesses were failing at an unprecedented rate, unable to compete with huge corporations gobbling everything in their path. The age old strategy of find a niche, find an area of commerce they didn't want to be was coming to an end.
Yet, nobody seemed to know. Controller knew. Currency was his business and despite the damage done to the US dollar by that president that must never be mentioned, it had still been one of the best bets as a reserve currency. Time to connect with Yolanda.

Interesting move, they almost had the majority vote before this. Do you think they are going to try to float a competing currency.
Gizmo, is taking his money and making a stand in Puerto Rico, Controller said thoughtfully. I think he still has a grudge about that hurricane a couple decades ago where they left the place without water or power. That island is fairly self sufficient today, he has a strong circle base and I'm guessing he plans to supersize it.
And Traveler? What is my dear Godson up to?
Controller replied. Hard to say, he always plays close to the vest. His corporations are more tied to Angelica, Gizmo, and Wonk than any of the other blues, I suspect that is where we find the clue.
By himself, he can't possibly float another currency that matters, H Coin is up 7000%. That's a moat that can't be crossed. I would say the dear boy doesn't have many options.
Maybe, maybe not. A huge part of the US is likely to come crashing down on his head, but the same thing goes for you Yolanda. Highest gun ownership per capita in the world, stressed and depressed population, that is a recipe for civil unrest and nobody will be safe. Heck the end of the gilded age has already begun.

That's very sweet and I already have one, but no, my grandfather and father invested heavily in Madagascar, lots of circle companies. I think I will make my residence in Depository II.
