Chapter 3 Summary

Wonk and Traveler are diverted from watching bikinis to battle hoodlums at Wave Park, then exit. Stephen Paddock leader of these hoodlums is deep state tracked by Wonk. Aria Vanderbilt, Stephen's mother, has saved tons of his writings and schoolwork, these are fed to Wonk's young protection AI. We also learn he was on the ADHD drug ritfilistan, a right brain enhancer as a young child. Yolanda, quite amused, suggest sending him to Madagascar to work on Canal des Panganeles.


Wonk drives past a speech by Dr. Clara Bow, (CB), who he has met, that went viral on the subject of romance. While driving he calls Traveler to encourage him to upgrade Eve.ai. This thread also introduces personas.

The story segways into a discussion of the life long relationship of Traveler and Gizmo, as well as carbon sequester eventually leading to WAG tacticals, (WAG tacticals are the business jetfuel that drives Wonk Enterprises into the mainstream).

The political climate, Flat Earth Party, Robusts, Church of AI, Botxennials, are introduced into the story. So are two threads from the Tower of Bable, common language, nothing is impossible for a united mankind.

The HNMNBM party, creating of the HNMNBie movement. Yolanda in particular, and Angelica become leaders of the movement.

Traveler gets ready for a visit from Yolanda, prepares the veggies with an amorphous steel knife. Yolanda introduces Traveler to the keiretsu. Blue Circle, Circle are defined. The idea of a gilded age and reset are introduced into the story. Traveler is also granted access to more of his inheritance, he is a billionaire.

Traveler is to supply carbon fiber to Skip for his RVs. Skip and Traveler meet, we hear about Skip's wild ride down the mountain in a wildfire, these RVs are actually pretty cool, (welcome to the PNW). Traveler feels he can supply structural panels to go the next step. 

Skip is a fun guy, likes to party, live life large, but his experience racing down a mountain to escape a wildfire left an impression on him.

Wonk and Traveler are talking. Traveler admits he is a hemophiliac so the water park stunt was very risky. WTG tacticals is born. Wonk just can't quit thinking about safety, security, physical security and the business opportunity of allowing people to pay money to feel safer; the PSE.

Wonk's growing protection business forces him to evaluate the For The Children Pact, he decides that for his business they are going to ditch .223s and large capacity magazines. Wonk discusses this with Reverend Slocom.

Smart rats, product of human stem cell injection, Humph and Aarf in Madagascar make contact with Charles Vanderbilt, formerly known as Stephen Paddock. Yolanda is freaked, the appropriate course of action was to nuke the rats from high orbit, sadly, it was impossible. 


Guy is coding, experiments with Dr. Clara Bow's business card. It's not magic, its advanced. Guy meets the Net Girls. 

Wonk is shopping at WinCo, getting snacks for the adventure at Iron Springs. Some girl is in the way, pretty though. Comes back, they talk briefly at the spice counter, she gives him a business card, and with a small smile says, It's Blend, (team member of BlendIT). She is off to a venture capital party to fund BlendIT.

Roots of the Social Justarian party. Will HNN want to team with them? Yolanda agrees to meet with the social justarian party. Angelica thinks it could further the HNMNBie agenda, though she is a bit coy. They make the point that the core Social Justarians are probably opaque to deep state.

Dogwert and the iBone. Guy hits on Clara, we learn her story.
